Lecture Demonstrations
Peter’s Lecture Demonstrations have for years inspired and educated many thousands of riders, enthusiastic to learn more sympathetic and correct methods of training dressage.
2008 was a tremendous success with series of one off Lecture Demonstrations all over the UK. We added to that a series of 6 at our home venue which build up from the beginnings to the most advanced dressage horse. 2009 will cover in more depth the dressage movements themselves from the basics to the more advanced.
Using the stallions of El Caballo de España Peter demonstrates and explains in easy to understand language the theory and practice of everyday training as well as piaffes, passages and Spanish walks of the advanced horse.
Peter charming, humorous and relaxed presentation amazes the audience of both amateurs and professionals as he glides over the arena in passes and passage, piaffe’s and pirouettes on one horse after the other. Showing the work of the competition horse, the vaquera horse and the garrochista’s horse. Riding with two hands, then one hand, with a flag or with a garrocha. He continues with a constant commentary, never out of breath. Always at ease and his horses as happy as any can look.
This is a must for any rider who truly wants to know how to get the best from their horse in a light and sympathetic way.
Peter also performs a selection of different pieces to music during the evening.
Lectures
Peter gives a number of lectures each year. They can cover many of the aspects of the Spanish and Portuguese horse, including its history, traditions and culture including their costume, tack and presentation as well as about the training of Doma Clasica, Doma Vaquera, Garrocha and dressage in general.
Peter always try’s to be available to sign copies of his book ‘Living and Working with the Horse of Spain’ published by J.A.Allen
Peter also lectures, demystifying the myths of dressage. Enlightening the rider on not just the how and why but the structures and principles are so necessary to produce correct work.
These lectures also give the audience a great opportunity to ask about the problems and the misunderstandings they may have in their daily work.
These work well with both small and large audiences and Peter has lectured to dressage groups, summer camps, riding clubs as well as regularly conducting seminars and theory sessions for groups at clinics.
